Loktak Development Authority has received an order from Union Ministry of Shipping which has approved development of Loktak Inland Waterways project in the state of Manipur.
The estimated cost of the project is arouhd ₹ 25.58 crore. It will give a boost to the development of inland water transport connectivity in the north-eastern states and also improve the tourism sector. Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Northeast
